Another lost dog

Black & white Papillon. This is a very small breed, 5-7 lbs. Her name is Molly, she is 8 years old and she is sweet.

Calendar added to Park Reservation page

To check the availability of the Park for an organized event, go to the Park Reservation page, which now has an interactive Google calendar displayed to show reservation days and times.

Remember, when reserving the park, or any time you use it, you are responsible for taking out your own trash.

See you at the park!

Report ’em all, let Bryan PD sort ’em out

We’ve had a few reports of suspicious activity in our neighborhood recently (in addition to some actual truck wheel thefts); if you’re not subscribed to the Westwood Estates Yahoo email group, please do so now to get reports from Bryan Police Department’s Will Holt and contributing residents. You can see past letters to this group if you sign up.

Also, it’s a good time to review last year’s post about car burglaries.

Found dogs

A resident on Westwood Main found these two sweet pups running loose. They don’t have tags or collars but they’re safe and happy and waiting for their owner! Please call Rod at 255-4601 to claim.

Annual Meeting this Thursday

The upcoming annual meeting is scheduled for

Thursday, January 13, 2011
7:00 pm
at Mary Branch Elementary School Cafeteria . Enter at the east entrance, the side facing toward Aerofit.

If you cannot attend, please have your vote represented by proxy. We’ve printed the proxies and they will be distributed in the next few days. If you prefer, or somehow don’t get one, download one here: 2011 Proxy. Then fill it out and bring it to a block captain or a board member.

We will be electing board members to fill three (3) positions. We have three openings on the board, with only two willing candidates. We need at least one other resident, ideally three, to step forward to run for the board.

If less than 25% (49 votes) of the members are represented at the meeting, the meeting will not occur and eventually the Association will cease to exist. (Notice of meeting was in October Newsletter. Per Bylaws, notice of meeting has to be given not less than two weeks before the meeting.)

Found dog

Update: Dog returned to owner! All is well

This little brown and white dog snuck through our front door and made itself comfortable on our couch!

He/she’s safe, but I’m sure wants to go home. If this dog is yours, please call

  • 979-574-7595, or
  • 979-575-7481 or
  • email us.

Thanks!

Return of predators?

Careful; these guys are out there.

A resident on Hummingbird phoned to report that she’d found a dead cat in her yard this morning with its head gone, presumably the result of some predator animal. The cat was yellow, not fully grown.

As you may remember, we’d had coyote problems earlier in the year. Everyone, please protect your animals!

Also, from the earlier article, The Texas Parks and Wildlife website has some excellent information regarding dealing with urban animals whose habitats are being encroached upon.
